Blended Learning Education
Akron Digital offers a blended learning education model that is a combination of a traditional school model and an "online" school model. In a traditional setting, a student attends a school building five days a week while scheduled in various class periods throughout the day. An "online" school model is where a student works only from a computer, where all of the courses are offered through online curriculum.
A blended learning model is truly a hybrid to both traditional and online. At Akron Digital, students are given Chromebook (laptops) with online based curriculum/courses and are assigned various days to attend labs. This flipped classroom model allows students to work primarily from their computer (while connected to the internet) at their own pace. Because this model does not put time restrictions like a traditional model, students can work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Unlike an online school, students are assigned days to attend lab so that they can get extra help from their teachers including direct instruction courses, small group instruction and one-on-one help.

Dropout Recovery
A dropout recovery initiative is any community, government, non-profit or business program in which students who have previously left school are sought out for the purpose of re-enrollment. In the United States, such initiatives are often focused on former high school students who are still young enough to have their educations publicly subsidized, generally those 22 years of age and younger.
Dropout recovery programs can be initiated in traditional "brick-and-mortar" institutions of learning, in community centers or online.
